Weekly Update!

Report cards are coming out this Wednesday!

IB SENIORS: Don't forget (how could anyone forget?) that Extended Essay turn-in day is this Friday, October 31! Remember to send your essay to turnitin.com and triple-check your paper (all three hard copies) according to the yellow checklist. And, since it's going to be Halloween, "don't" dress up based on your awesome essay!

This week's agenda:

Monday -
  • Pre-IB Chemistry I (Mrs. Nagel) - The test on chapter five is today.
  • Pre-IB Chemistry I (Mrs. Smith) - There is a test on Chapter Five: study the notes taken in class as well as her assigned chapter review. She is also collecting or checking the review today.
  • IB Theatre I (Mrs. Brooks) - We will be starting the "waiting room" scenes.
  • AP Calculus BC (Mr. Bobbitt) - The homework from Sections 5.6 - 5.8 from the calculus book and the Practice AP problems will be due.
  • AP U.S. History (Mr. Rose) - The study questions from Chapter 14 of the textbook will be due for discussion.
  • AP Chemistry (Mrs. Smith) - The outline on Chapter 7 of the textbook will be due.
  • IB Theatre II (Mrs. Brooks) - Hopefully you Portfolio people have been doing research this weekend, because we'll be collaborating again today!
Tuesday -
  • IB Pre-Calculus (Mrs. Li) - There will be a test on ellipses, hyperbolas, and parabolas from Chapter 9.
  • AP European History (Mr. Bullington) - There will be a test on the Reconstruction of France, the Politiques, 30 Years' War, the Balance of Power, the Netherlands, and the Stuarts of England. Be sure to review the lecture notes and assigned reading: Sections 15-19 in the Palmer and Colton.
  • AP English Language and Composition (Ms. Harvilchuck) - The recitation of the first eighteen lines of the prologue of the Canterbury Tales is due today.
  • IB Chemistry III (Mrs. Nagel) - Test on SN1, SN2, and free-radical reactions and mechanisms. There will be a study guide up tomorrow night.
  • IB Theatre I (Mrs. Brooks) - We will be continuing the "waiting room" scenes.
  • AP English Literature and Composition (Mr. Murray) - Ten notecards from the 100-quote project will be due.
Wednesday -
  • IB World Geography (Mr. Sutton) - Write the topic you wish to study for your Internal Assessment on a sheet of paper, as well as how exactly it relates to the IB curricula sheet for globalization, due at the end of class.
  • ALL THEATRE CLASSES (Mrs. Brooks) - Remember to have your $55 ($62 if you're also getting the boxed lunch) downpayment for Districts if you're going. You will also be expected to know specifically what you're doing for Districts.
  • AP English Literature and Composition (Mr. Murray) - We will be having a test on Units 1-6 from Vocabulary Workshop.
  • AP Calculus BC (Mr. Bobbitt) - We will be having a test on Chapters 4 and 5 from the calculus book, not including the inverse trig functions.
  • AP Chemistry (Mrs. Smith) - The homework on Chapter 8 of the textbook will be due.
Thursday -
  • IB Theatre I (Mrs. Brooks) - We will be continuing the "waiting room" scenes.
  • AP U.S. History (Mr. Rose) - Remember to bring your textbook to work on Chapter 15 study questions while Mr. Rose is absent.
  • IB History of the Americas (MR. Bullington) - The Stalin Test is scheduled for today. Guide tentatively expected Wednesday night.
Friday -
  • AP Biology (Ms. Bidwell) - The test on photosynthesis is today.
  • AP European History (Mr. Jones) - There is a quiz today on John Locke's The Second Treatise of Government.
  • IB Theatre I (Mrs. Brooks) - We will be continuing the "waiting room" scenes.
  • AP Chemistry (Mrs. Smith) - We will be having a test on Chapters 7 and 8 from the textbook. Study by working practice problems in the book or studying your notes/outlines. In addition, the outline on Sections 8.6 and 8.7 will be due.

Hey, you left out the chem tests for Pre IB chem, the oral quiz for Harvilchuck regarding the prologue for the poem, the bio test on fri for AP bio and the reading quiz for Jones on the Two Treaties of Govt.

There's an AP Statistics test on Thursday for chapter 3. Calculus AB test on chapter 3 sections 3.1-3.4. English notecards are being checked everyday now in class, 10 per day. Spanish III quiz on Friday on vocabulary. AP Chemistry test on Friday. Units 1-6 Vocab. test on Wednesday in English.

Oh, and the calculator lab on the Mean Value Theorem is due on Thursday for Calculus AB. However, it can be turned in on Tuesday to be graded as a rough draft, and then returned to be corrected.

Anon, just to correct you and so you don't think I don't listen to your gloriousness, the Spanish quiz was moved to Monday.
