Please note: The SN2 reaction in the mechanism section (about halfway through) has an arrow connecting the OH group to the halogenoalkane. That arrow is not implying a step--think of it as the OH flying, or shooting like an arrow, straight to the opposite side of the carbon. Like in the animation we watched online. It's makin' it chiral!
Edit: I also misspelled "mechanism" somewhere. Ashamed, I be.
