Spring Break!

It's finally here! A glorious 9 days we have completely to ourselves...well, not quite. There are a couple things you should remember to save time for over the break -

AP English Lang. and Comp. (Ms. Harvilchuck) - Complete the worksheet that was passed out on Friday about Sentence Structure.

AP Human Geography (Mr. Sutton) - For three topics that have interested you the most that have been covered in class, find a recent news article and write a response for each about why you are interested in that specific topic. To clarify, you need three topics covered by three articles accompanied by three responses.

AP Biology (Ms. Bidwell) - There will be a free-response test the Thursday after Spring Break. Students going to State Science Fair will take this test ahead of time. Everyone should be prepared to answer one of five prompts:
  • 2000 Ques. 4
  • 2002 Ques. 2
  • 2002 B Ques. 4
  • 2003 Ques. 3
  • 2005 B Ques. 1 - A scoring guideline for this prompt is available at the official College Board site: http://www.collegeboard.com/prod_downloads/ap/students/biology/ap05_sg_biology_b.pdf
Also, remember to do some preliminary research for the animal behavior design lab. It is an individual lab where you must find a way to design an experiment that will produce enough data (must be quantified) and test the behavior of pill bugs (roly-poly). You alone are responsible for coming up with a research problem, keeping the environment controlled, and testing appropriate variables. If you can, bring in some pill bugs (LIVE!) in time for the lab.

Pre-IB Spanish II (Señora Martelli) - The project on Federico García Lorca will be due after Spring Break. This was previously due yesterday, and the substitute may have forgotten to inform certain classes of this change. As usual, there are many options, such as working with Lorca's poems, writing a research paper, making videos, etc. Remember that the gypsies of Southern Spain were an important factor in his life, which makes them a possible topic for a project.

Señora Martelli has been unable to come to school because of falling on her back last Friday -- some of her discs ruptured and she was unable to get out of bed this week.
