Weekly Update!

Remember that AP exams and IB exams are coming up! Visit these links for the AP Exam Schedule, AP Exam Late Testing Schedule, and IB Exam Schedule.

For juniors interested in recycling, remember to sign up for the room(s) you want to be responsible for next year on this document. This Wednesday is "Buddy Day" - after school, you will pair up with the senior(s) currently assigned to the room(s) you signed up for and they will show you what you need to do.

This week's agenda -

Monday -
  • APUSH (Mr. Rose) - There is a multiple-choice test with approximately 55 to 60 questions covering Chapters 23 and 24 of the American Pageant.
Wednesday -
  • APUSH (Mr. Rose) - Matching quiz on Chapter 10 of the Princeton.
  • AP Chemistry (Mr. Mitchell) - There will be a test covering Chapter 16 in the textbook.
  • IB History of the Americas (Mr. Jones) - There will be a multiple-choice test on Argentina and Chile. Be sure to read the appropriate chapters from the textbook. This will be one of our few grades for this quarter, so study hard!
  • IB Chemistry III (Mrs. Smith) - The assessment statements for Topics 6 and 16 will be due.
  • IB English IV (Mrs. Benson) - There will be a test on roughly the first half of The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. Make sure that you are caught up with all reading!
  • IB Further Mathematics (Mr. Bobbitt) - Practice IB exams will continue. Make sure that you have your reference packet with you!
Tuesday -
  • IB Spanish IV (Sr. Alemañy) - We will begin a practice IB exam.
  • IB Chemistry III (Mrs. Smith) - We will begin a practice IB exam. You will be allowed to use any source material that you desire, provided it is yours and you are not borrowing from a neighbor.
  • IB Theory of Knowledge (Mr. Butcher) - There will be a possible quiz on the Religion chapter of the textbook.
  • IB Further Mathematics (Mr. Bobbitt) - Practice IB exams will continue. Make sure that you have your reference packet with you!

Thursday -
  • AP Eng. Lit. and Comp. (Mr. Murray) - Have one quote for each chapter of Siddhartha.

Weekly Update!

Time to get back to work, unfortunately...

This week's agenda -

Monday -
  • AP Calculus BC (Mrs. Li) - TEST (50% of 3rd nine-weeks grade): The 3 Calculator FR questions will be done in class, while both MC sections are after school.
  • AP Chemistry (Mr. Mitchell) - Chapter 16: #s 19-27 odd, Chapter 17: #s1-55 odd. Remember to bring in your signed field trip form for Friday's field trip to UWF!
Tuesday -
  • AP Calculus BC (Mrs. Li) - TEST (50% of 3rd nine-weeks grade): The no-calculator portion of the free-response.
  • IB World Geography (Mr. Sutton) - There is a MC test covering all of the material from this year.
  • Pre-IB Biology (Mr. Robinson) - We have the final phylum exam so make sure to go over all of your worksheets and I recommend this for an overview of each phyla.
Wednesday -
  • AP World History (Mrs. Brown) - We have the test over World War I.

Weekly Update!

There's a quite a bit of homework to do over the weekend, so I decided to release the weekly update a little earlier than usual. SPRING BREAK - March 26 will be the last day of school before April 5!

This week's agenda:

Monday -
  • AP Chemistry (Mr. Mitchell) - Chapter 16 Homework (I): complete #1-#17 odd on page 789.
  • IBWG (Mr. Sutton) - Chapter 11 Vocabulary and Thinking Geographically questions (NOT the Review questions) are due. There is also a quiz on Alternative Energy. Remember to pay attention to the maps in the chapter.
  • IB Spanish III (Señor Alemañy) - Chapter 6 Test, in the usual format of T/F, MC, and FR.
  • IB Biology (Mrs. Bidwell) - Paper II, Section A is today (One DBQ, several mandatory short-answer). The Kidney Dissection Lab is due: no introduction or evaluation necessary, but remember to include two sketches and answer the questions in the packet.
Tuesday -
  • AP Eng. Lit. and Comp. (Mr. Murray) - Respond to one of the Chronicle of a Death Foretold prompts in your journal.
  • IB Biology (Mrs. Bidwell) - Paper II, Section B (One extended-response, choice from three)
  • AP Calculus BC (Mrs. Li) - TEST POSTPONED TO MONDAY, APRIL 5. There is a test, with questions similar to those in the review packet. Remember to review the particle motion free-response packet.
Wednesday -
  • IB Biology (Mrs. Bidwell) - Paper III (Several short answer questions on options)
Friday -
  • APUSH (Mr. Rose) - There is a multiple-choice test on Chapter 22.

Weekly Update!

Internal Assessment week! Math Internal Assessments are due no later than 3:00 p.m. on Monday, with the IB Biology Seed Germination Lab also due on Monday.

This week's agenda -

Tuesday -
  • IB Biology (Mrs. Bidwell) - There is a test on AS 6.5.7-6.5.12 and 11.3, which cover homeostasis and the kidney.

Wednesday -
  • AP Eng. Lit. and Comp. (Mr. Murray) - Have A Chronicle of a Death Foretold read.
Thursday -
  • AP Chemistry (Mr. Mitchell) - There is a test on Chapter 15.
Friday -
  • APUSH (Mr. Rose) - There is a multiple-choice test on Chapters 19, 20, and 21.

Weekly Update!

There's a lot going on this week, so this update will hopefully prove of assistance to you!

Spanish National Honor Society inductions will be in Señor Alemañy's room on Wednesday after school. They will last about half an hour.

Juniors: remember, APUSH extra credit prompts can be requested from Mr. Rose at any time.

This Friday, Mr. Bobbitt will be giving out another math Internal Assessment project.

This week's agenda

Monday -
  • IB World Geography (Mr. Sutton) - Final drafts of the IA are due.
Tuesday -
  • AP Chemistry (Mr. Mitchell) - Chapter 14 test, all MC.
Wednesday -
  • AP Eng. Lit. and Comp. (Mr. Murray) - All Madame Bovary book notes are due. There are to be a minimum of two characters, places, literary devices, and one theme per assigned section.
  • AP Chemistry (Mr. Mitchell) - Some additional time will be given to work on yesterday's test.
  • APUSH (Mr. Rose) - There will be a 5-document DBQ on the social/economic history of th 1950's. Look for details about the time period online or in the Amsco guide. This period in history corresponds with Chapter 38 of the American Pageant.
Friday -
  • IB Biology (Mrs. Bidwell) - There is a test on Topic 9. Assessment statements are due as usual.
