Weekly Update!

It's the last week before Winter Break! I hope everyone enjoys it.

This week's agenda -

Monday -
  • IB Theory of Knowledge (Mr. Butcher) - Ten more journal entries are due. Remember that quite a few of them should relate to your ToK presentations or papers.
  • IB English IV (Mrs. Benson) - There will be a reading test on Acts IV-V of Hamlet.
  • IB Further Mathematics (Mr. Bobbitt) - Problem Set 2.2 should be completed.
Tuesday -
  • IB Chemistry III (Mrs. Smith) - The design lab on esters will be due. Be sure to follow the IB rubric.

This week's agenda -

Monday -

  • AP Calculus BC (Mrs. Li) - There is a test on Chapter 6 material. The optional calculator lab is due. Recommended problems (completion): 5.5, 5.8, 5.9, 7.7, 6.1-6.5 Required problems (accuracy): 6.3, 6.4, 6.5
Wednesday -
  • AP Chemistry (Mr. Mitchell) - Test on Chapter 12, accompanied by 10.1 and 10.2
Friday -
  • APUSH (Mr. Rose) - Free-Response test on material from Chapters 11, 12, and 13 lecture notes. The Credit assignment is due.

This assignment will be due on December 11, 2009. Remember to have bulleted information in the format of :

Yes, the word "interpretation" must be written. There should be between 8-12 bullets with information, accompanied by 8-12 interpretations. Remember not to use the American Pageant, Princeton, or Barron's as a source. Additionally, do not use generic websites; look for reliable sources.

2. Evaluate the relative importance of the following as factors prompting Americans to rebel in 1776:
  • Parliamentary taxation
  • Restriction of civil liberties
  • British military measures
  • The legacy of colonial religious and political ideas
3. Compare the debates that took place over American expansionism in the 1840s with those that took place in the 1890s, analyzing the similarities and differences in the debates of the two eras.

4. Discuss the political, economic, and social reforms introduced in the South between 1864 and 1877. To what extent did these reforms survive the Compromise of 1877?

5. In what ways did the Great Society resemble the New Deal in its origins, goals, and social and political legacy? Cite specific programs and policies in support of your arguments.
