The end of the nine weeks approaches!

This week's agenda:

Tuesday -

• AP Chemistry (Mr. Mitchell) - The homework assignment from last Friday will be checked. This encompasses pg. 226, #55, #59, #61-#63, #67-#71 odd, #75.
• IB World Geography (Mr. Sutton) - The Global Warming Article assignment is due: everyone needs to have one article supporting the existence of anthropogenic global warming/climate change and one article against the theory, as well as a response to both articles and explaining which viewpoint one supports.
• IB Theatre II (Mrs. Brooks) - We will be justifying our grades to Mrs. Brooks. Be sure to have all research that you have done for your Independent Project with you. Your grade depends on it!
• IB Chemistry III (Mrs. Smith) - We will be grading the Molecular Geometry labs in class.
  

Wednesday -

• AP/IB Biology (Mrs. Bidwell) - MRS. BIDWELL IS COMING BACK!
• IB Chemistry III (Mrs. Smith) - There will be a notebook check. Be sure to have completed all assessment statements, and be sure to have your binder completely organized.
  
• IB English IV (Mrs. Benson) - There will be a unit test on the poetry of Robert Lee Frost. Study all handouts and be thoroughly familiar with all of Frost's poems, and be prepared to answer questions about specific line numbers without a copy of any of the poems for reference. Thursday -

• IB Biology (Mrs. Bidwell) - The Human Reflex-Response-Reaction Design Lab is due.

Friday -

• AP Calculus BC (Mr. Bobbitt) - Calculator Lab #5 Corrections are due.
• IB Biology (Mrs. Bidwell) - Eye Anatomy Quiz: check out the eye anatomy guide.
  
• IB Chemistry III (Mrs. Smith) - There will be a test on Topic 4. Be sure to have completed the necessary assessment statements in preparation. UPDATE - This test has been moved to next Tuesday (thanks, Madeline!).
  
• IB English IV (Mrs. Benson) - There will be a reading test on Heart of Darkness. Be sure to have actually read the book, as Mrs. Benson has stated that it will not be possibly to pass by only reading SparkNotes.

http://www.lib.unimelb.edu.au/cite/acs/print.pdf is a handy sheet to have when using the numeric system. Remember that if you choose to have numerical in-text citations, you will have the sources in numerical order in the works cited, rather than alphabetical.

http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/CHEM/acsstyle.html is an excellent resource, as it discusses how to format the works cited (such as telling you to not leave blank spaces between references), as well as how to cite sources. I highly recommend it, since it gives a basic format for each type of resource, as well as examples - a lot of websites will only give examples.

REMINDER: Don't forget to write the simple, total, and net ionic equations for all reactions that occurred in the lab! These equations belong in the discussion section.

Weekly Update!

Hello, everyone! This is a reminder that the PHS drama troupe will be holding auditions for its fall show, The Mouse That Roared, Monday in Room 95. Alternatively, if you don't know where Room 95 is, you may show up in the auditorium, and there will be someone to guide you to the right place.

This week's agenda:

Monday -

• IB Spanish IV (Sr. Alemañy) - There will be a quiz on the second half of the health vocabulary.
  
• IB English IV (Mrs. Benson) - There will be a unit test on the poetry of William Butler Yeats. Study all handouts and be thoroughly familiar with all of Yeats's poems, and be prepared to answer questions about specific line numbers without a copy of any of the poems for reference.

Tuesday -

• IB Theory of Knowledge (Mr. Butcher) - There will be a test on the terms from the assigned handout.
  

Wednesday -

• IB Spanish IV (Sr. Alemañy) - We will begin group oral presentations.
  

Thursday -

• IB Further Mathematics (Mr. Bobbitt) - The review sets for Chapters 9 and 10 from the HL Core textbook will be due.
• IB Chemistry III (Mrs. Smith) - There will be a test on the Environmental Chemistry topic. Study all of your notes from the environmental presentations.

Friday -

• IB Further Mathematics (Mr. Bobbitt) - There will be a test on all of IB Statistics.
