Welcome, New Visitors!

To those of you new to Guides by Julie, I'd like to point two major features of the site:
  1. Chatback badges: feel free to talk to one of us if you have a question about the blog, want to add to the Weekly Update, or want to know where a certain guide is
  2. Index: a work in progress. In the meantime, go to http://www.scribd.com/people/documents/95697-julie to find the majority of guides conveniently grouped into folders.
The majority of posts on the blog are either "Weekly Updates!" or contain embedded documents. Please note that different staff members will write in different text colors. See the sidebar for a full explanation.

Weekly Update!

Time for the second week! If anyone would like to get a locker, retrieve a form from the Dean's Office and return it there. It is likely you will get a locker within a day or two.

This week's agenda:

Thursday -

  • IB Spanish III (Señor Alemañy) - There is a test on the basic concepts that have been covered in his class so far.
  • AP Chemistry (Mr. Mitchell) - Chapter 7 homework problems are due.
  • AP English Lit. and Comp. (Mr. Murray) - Read the introduction to the Power of Myth and bring it to class.
  • AP Calculus BC (Mr. Bobbitt) - The first page of the IB review is due today.
Friday -
  • AP Calculus BC (Mr. Bobbitt) - The first Calculator Lab is due.
  • AP Chemistry (Mr. Mitchell) - Chapter 8 homework problems are due.
  • AP US History (Mr. Rose) - There will be a discussion of the issue questions from Chapter 2.  While it is not necessary to have the answers written down, be familiar with them.
  • IB World Geography (Mr. Sutton) - There is a quiz on the material covered in class so far.

New Features on the Blog

Recently, I've been looking around the blog and cleaning up, as well as adding new features.
  • I updated the Links section, removing some of the unnecessary links.
  • The FAQ was extremely outdated, so I removed some of the questions that only pertained to our earlier days, as well as adjusting a few of the answers. It is now accessible under the Links section.
  • Blogger implemented a search box for blogs, so I added that to the sidebar. Try it out! I think it's rather nice.
  • Of course, I ran across our old document index (see previous post for note). Hopefully, this feature will be up and running sometime in the future.

Document Index - Take #2

Some people may have remembered that two years ago, we attempted to start indexing documents and providing links to each one. That came to a disastrous end. However, Julie's Study Guides is now the proud owner of nearly 200 documents, and we think it's time to try again. Wish us luck.

Mathematics Index

Please note that due to the nature of learning this subject, we have decided to discontinue our line of math guides. As one progresses through, it becomes more practical to learn directly from workable examples, which these guides cannot realistically provide.
